Gutted and remodeled from the studs out, all systems were replaced, upgraded and restored on a tight budget. Trying to honor the 1920's roots without breaking the bank, or sacrificing modern conveniences, this project was a full restoration. Most of the period details had been destroyed, so careful research and reconstruction was required to replace the lost details of the 20's. Period style tile, salvage hardware and doors, and plaster meets modern with recessed lights, modern open floor plans and teak floors. The result is a character building that feels airy, yet cozy. Comfortable and modern, but with period details galore. All new T.M.Cobb wooden windows custom fabricated to mimic the original windows re-created by using existing windows of original units down the street. Modern codes required use of casement rather than double hung, however, the look is very similar and was made to look as close to original as current codes allow.
