1926 SPANISH STYLE 20 UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING IN WESTLAKE, NEAR DOWNTOWN LA

20 Bedrooms, 20 Bathrooms

Most of the original windows and hardware were in bad shape, but never removed. Thankfully.

One year into an extensive restoration from the foundation up, this 20 unit building was abused and neglected.  Many original details were intact, fortunately.  This allowed me to reconstruct the missing details in many areas.  Still a few years away from a full restoration, here's a peek at the largest and most extensive renovation I've done to date.

EXTERIOR RESTORATION CURRENTLY IN PROCESS

Progress photos of projects to come, exterior paint job and lighting

View of the side of the building as windows are being restored.  View of front of the building as all the old cables are removed from the facade.  New redwood siding to replace the old, rotten siding.  The new (OLD) lamps for the front prior to full restoration.  One of the original barn fixtures from the exterior as I'm stripping away the paint to reveal the original trim color of the building.

The original paint on the doors was uncovered in a few areas, including the one door that has the original 1926 paint! It was hidden in a closet for almost 100 years. It's nice that I was able to match so many original colors, fixtures and features. I will post photos of the fully restored front of the building in the next few weeks. Paint is nearly finished and just the light fixtures need to be installed!
